Riverside County Non Resident CCW Eligibility
As an out-of-state resident, you are required to meet Riverside County's eligibility criteria in order to apply for a CCW permit. Reviewing these requirements is an important first step.
Age and Eligibility
Must be 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to carry a firearm.
Identification
Valid government issued ID (non-California Driver's License acceptable). If the ID lacks current address supplemental address documentation is required (utility bill or out-of-state CCW).

About the California Non-Resident CCW

As of April 22, 2025, California began issuing concealed carry permits to non-residents, following a ruling requiring the state to extend eligibility beyond California residents.

California now allows non-residents to obtain CCW permits and recognizes online training to meet the classroom requirement.

This course is the required live-fire qualification portion for those seeking a California Non-Resident Concealed Carry Weapons License (CCW).

How long is the CCW Certificate valid?
The training certificate doesn't expire, but you should complete your permit application promptly as requirements may change.
Will this course qualify me for a CCW Permit?
Our CCW course meets all California training requirements. However, permit approval is determined by your local sheriff's department based on their criteria.
How often do I need to renew my CCW Permit?
California CCW permits are valid for 2 years. You'll need 8 hours of renewal training before expiration. We offer convenient renewal courses.
Do you help with the application paperwork?
While we can't complete applications for you, we provide guidance on common sections and can review your application for completeness before submission.
Does your CCW course include live-fire training?
Yes! California law requires live-fire training. Our course includes range time where you'll demonstrate safe handling and basic marksmanship skills.
Do you offer an online CCW Permit course?
Yes! Veterans Training Group offers online CCW Permit training for Riverside County residents, as well as out-of-state applicants processing through Riverside County. Complete your required training from the comfort of your home while still meeting all county requirements.
